Me Whakamana tātou
Me whakamana tātou ia tātouMe whakamana i te tangata
Me whakaiti a koe e, e, i, i
Always acknowledge the gifts of the person you meet
Through the gifts of humbleness,
Ko ngā Kaumātua te puna o te mātauranga
Mā te whakarongo
Ka whakamanahia e, e, i, i
For the old people are the spring of knowledge
By listening to their wisdom, we acknowledge the gift
Ko ngā pakeke ngā kaitiaki o toku oranga
Mā te āwhina ka whakamanahia e, e, i, i
Ko nga tamariki ngā hua o tēnei ao
Mā te awhitahi, ka ora Ai .... i
For the parents are the guardians of nurturing,
by helping them, we acknowledge the gift
The children are the fruit that bares these gifts
It is embracing these gifts that they will survive
